ALBRIGHTON & DISTRICT CIVIC SOCIETY (ADCS)

(Albrighton, Boningale, Donington-with-Boscobel and Tong)

New Committee Elected
As set out in our Constitution, each October all officers and committee members stand down and a new committee is elected by the membership attending the annual general meeting. The committee elected for the coming year is as follows.
Chairman: Peter Woodman, Secretary: Rod Smith, Treasurer: Mike Pitchford. Committee members: Peter Illes, Ron Kidson, Gaynor Richards and Phyl Woodman.

The new committee will ensure that the Flower Competition is held in 2021. The first wave of the Covid pandemic caused us to hold off many activities and the flower competition was one of the casualties. We believe that if the Society promotes a garden activity it will be well received by many residents especially if some Covid restrictions are in place.

Similarly, the Society is making plans to run the School Awards Scheme for the three local schools and suggestions for the theme for 2021 would be welcome.

Subscription Renewals and New Members
Many thanks to the many residents who responded to our call last month to renew subs and welcome to those new members of the Society. We were very encouraged by your response and thank everyone who sent in their subs.

Please may we make another reminder - Everyone’s current membership ran out at the end of September so we really do need your help to get back the substantial membership numbers we are privileged to have.

So we are asking our loyal supporters if you will send in your subscriptions and for any new members to join us by paying the annual sum of £1 or £2 for a family membership

Apart from the subscription which helps to fund our activities, the response of the councils and authorities with whom we engage is influenced if we have a significantly large membership which demonstrates good community support. So even if you can’t volunteer for any of our projects please join to boost our membership numbers.

We invite all to join the Society or to renew your membership. It helps us to continue our work to improve the appearance of our villages & the quality of life within them.

Annual subscription is only £1 for a single membership or £2 for the family which will be valid until end September 2021.

Please tear off the slip below and send your subscription/donation to
